How To Repair Honda Odyssey Alternator


The method for changing an alternator in a Honda Odyssey is slightly different, though the placement of the alternator could possibly be different.

On a few models, you will likely need to move components throughout the alternator to get access to the bolts in which secure the alternator towards the engine block.

The placement of the tension pulley may differ between models as well. You need to get at least a rudimentary knowledge of the engine that you'll be working on as well as the right tools.



Tools You will require:
Open the hood of the Honda Odyssey and disconnect your battery. Some models possess plastic covers on them that really must be removed to get access to the connectors.

Some have clamps getting the wires towards the connector and on some you have got to use pliers to loosen the getting nuts.


Loosen and eliminate the alternator belt through locking the pliers onto the stress pulley and pulling the stress pulley back.

Once the belt is shed, pull the belt from the roller on your alternator.

Take away the bolts that risk-free the alternator towards the engine and yank the alternator from the engine.


Remove the wire harness on the side of the alternator through removing the prop and pulling it from the alternator.

Place the new alternator onto your engine and exchange the wire utilize, bolts and belt backwards of the way which you removed them on the alternator.

Re-connect the battery cables towards the battery the reverse of the fact that you removed these.

  1. It is not that easy to replace the alternator, at least ona 2010 Odyssey. There is not room to get it out. I dont know if it is necessary to take off radiator and a/c radiator and something else. I still cant find who help me.
